Job description

We are looking for a talented and skilled Electrical Supervisor - Utility & Substation in a Steel Melting Plant to join our multicultural and diverse team in Kuwait. You will be responsible for leading a team of technicians, ensuring equipment reliability, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.

Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Design, plan, and oversee the construction and maintenance of electrical substations, power distribution systems, and utility infrastructure within the steel plant.
  2. Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure that electrical systems meet the requirements of production processes and safety standards.
  3. Perform power system studies, load flow analysis, and fault analysis to ensure optimal design and operation of substations and power distribution networks.
  4. Develop and review electrical design documents, schematics, and technical specifications for substations and utilities.
  5. Coordinate with utility companies and regulatory authorities to ensure compliance with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards.
  6. Optimize power distribution systems for efficiency, reliability, and minimal downtime by implementing smart grid technologies and automation.
  7. Carry out daily shift activities and follow through on problems.
  8. Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to improve overall energy efficiency within the plant.
  9. Supervise maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and repairs of electrical equipment and systems.
Job Qualifications
  • At least a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 8-10 years of experience in electrical maintenance in a steel melting shop.
  • Ability to read electrical drawings; knowledge of utilities and substations; good knowledge in the maintenance and troubleshooting of utility and substation facilities in a steel melting plant.
