HVAC Engineer

The HVAC Engineer is responsible for the design, installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings. This role involves ensuring the efficient operation of HVAC systems, conducting system audits, and implementing energy-efficient solutions. The HVAC Engineer also works on the specification of HVAC equipment, ensures compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and provides technical support for ongoing projects. Strong technical knowledge of HVAC systems, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Design, install, and maintain HVAC systems for new and existing buildings.
2. Perform calculations, system sizing, and equipment selection to ensure optimal HVAC system performance.
3. Conduct regular inspections and maintenance of HVAC equipment, including troubleshooting and repairs.
4. Ensure HVAC systems comply with local codes, safety regulations, and energy efficiency standards.
5. Collaborate with project teams to review project requirements and provide technical solutions for HVAC needs.
6. Provide technical support during the commissioning and testing of HVAC systems.
7. Monitor system performance and implement improvements to enhance energy efficiency and reduce operational costs.
8. Prepare reports, documentation, and project updates related to HVAC systems.
9. Provide training and guidance to junior engineers and technicians.

Key Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, HVAC Engineering, or related field.
2. 3-5 years of experience in HVAC system design, installation, and maintenance.
3. In-depth knowledge of HVAC equipment, systems, and energy efficiency practices.
4. Proficiency in HVAC design software (e.g., AutoCAD, HAP, Trane Trace).
5. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
6. Knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and regulations (e.g., ASHRAE, LEED).
7. Excellent communication and project management skills.
8. Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks effectively.
