Sun Solaris Administrator

Accountabilities:

1. Perform system builds and hardware upgrades for Solaris and UNIX servers, as well as hardware maintenance and repairs/replacements.
2. Maintain and enhance existing systems administrator tools.
3. Diagnose and isolate operating system, server-side networking, and application-related problems.
4. Maintain effective communications with IT Teams and other support organizations.
5. Provide system backup support including user menus, scripts, backup software, and web-based monitoring tools.
6. Assist with reporting metrics on system performance, stability, and utilization.
7. Working environment: on-premises or cloud.

Skills:

Areas of Expertise:

1. Experienced in Solaris 10 (11 is a plus).
2. Experienced in Open Boot Print.
3. Experienced in installing patches and packages.
4. Good experience in on-premises, cloud, and hybrid environments.

Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computers/Information Technology.
