Job summary

Offshorejobvacancy in Kuwait is seeking a Driller to supervise the drilling crew and operate drilling equipment safely to execute drilling and workover programs on onshore rigs.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of land drilling/workover experience, 3 years as an Assistant Driller, and valid Well Control certification (WellSharp/IADC) with ADES training compliance. Intermediate English, strong safety mindset, and ability to work 12-hour day/night shifts are required.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise drilling operations and crew activities safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and monitor drilling equipment and parameters.
  • Maintain well control and respond to kicks and abnormal pressures.
  • Ensure compliance with approved well plans and procedures.
  • Maintain drilling reports, logs, and equipment records.
  • Oversee BOP installation and pressure testing as needed.
  • Monitor mud properties and volumes for operations.
  • Coordinate maintenance, inspections, and repairs of equipment.
  • Enforce waste-management and safety procedures on site.
  • Support rig-up/rig-down and rig-move activities.
  • Monitor third-party activities for safe practices.
  • Communicate with Tool Pushers, client reps, and engineers.
  • Train and mentor drilling crew members and trainees.

Job Summary

Responsible for supervising the drilling crew and safely operating drilling equipment to execute drilling and workover programs. Monitors drilling parameters, maintains well control, troubleshoots downhole issues, and ensures safe, efficient operations in accordance with company and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and supervise drilling operations and crew activities safely and efficiently.
  • Operate and monitor drilling equipment, controls, and drilling parameters.
  • Maintain well control and respond promptly to kicks, stuck pipe, abnormal pressure, torque, and other well conditions.
  • Ensure drilling activities comply with approved well plans, company procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain drilling reports, pipe tallies, BHA/completion records, equipment logs, and operational documentation.
  • Supervise BOP installation and pressure testing as required.
  • Monitor mud volumes, weight, and properties.
  • Coordinate equipment maintenance, inspections, repairs, and planned maintenance activities.
  • Maintain good housekeeping and enforce waste-management and safety procedures.
  • Support rig-up/rig-down and rig-move activities, including pre-task safety meetings.
  • Monitor third-party and subcontractor activities to ensure safe working practices.
  • Communicate effectively with Tool Pushers, Client Representatives, engineers, and other departments.
  • Train, mentor, and develop drilling crew members and support competency programs.
Requirements
  • High School or Vocational/Technical qualification.
  • Minimum 5 years’ land drilling/workover experience, including experience as Floorman, Derrickman, and Assistant Driller.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as an Assistant Driller.
  • Proven experience on onshore drilling rigs.
  • Intermediate English communication skills.
  • Good mathematical, drilling-practice, and drilling-fluid knowledge.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, situational awareness, and safety mindset.
  • Physically fit and able to work at heights and in extreme weather conditions.
  • Willingness to work 12-hour day/night shifts.
Certification
  • Certifications as per ADES Training Matrix.
  • Valid Well Control certification (WellSharp / IADC).
