Job summary

Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts in Kuwait City seeks an experienced Director of Purchasing to lead Purchasing, Receiving and Storeroom operations, ensuring all hotel departments have the supplies needed to deliver exceptional service.

Reporting to Finance, the role drives procurement strategy, vendor relationships, inventory management, cost control, capital planning and ESG-aligned sustainability initiatives within the luxury hospitality context of Four Seasons Kuwait.

Qualifications

• Minimum five years of hotel purchasing experience with leadership roles.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management and cost-control in hospitality.
• Proven leadership to develop teams and influence stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
• Knowledge of GCC and Kuwait markets; understanding of local suppliers.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and procurement systems such as BirchStreet and/or Microsoft D365.

What You Will Do

The Director of Purchasing is responsible for leading the Purchasing, Receiving, and Storeroom operations to ensure all hotel departments have the supplies and resources needed to deliver exceptional service. Reporting to the Director of Finance, this leadership role drives procurement strategy, vendor relationships, inventory management, cost control, capital planning, and compliance while supporting operational excellence across the hotel. Additionally, develop and implement sustainable procurement strategies aligned with the’s Environmental Social and Governance (ESG) objectives, brand standards, and corporate sustainability commitments.

What You Bring

• Minimum five years of hotel purchasing experience, including at least two years in a Director of Purchasing or comparable leadership role.
• Strong negotiation, vendor management, and cost-control experience within a hospitality environment.
• Proven leadership skills with the ability to develop teams, influence stakeholders, and build strong cross-functional relationships.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (spoken and written).
• Preferably knowledgeable about the GCC and Kuwait markets, with an established understanding of local suppliers, sourcing practices, and market dynamics.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and procurement systems as such BirchStreet and/or Microsoft D365.
