Job description

We are seeking an experienced Directional Drilling / Business Development Manager for one of our Oil & Gas client based in Kuwait.

Job Summary: The Directional Drilling / Business Development Manager is responsible for overseeing directional drilling operations while driving business growth. This role ensures the efficient execution of drilling projects, maintains high safety standards, and expands the company's market presence by identifying and securing new business opportunities. A strong background in Logging While Drilling (LWD) is essential to support well evaluation and optimize drilling performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan, supervise, and execute all directional drilling and LWD activities, ensuring optimal performance and adherence to industry standards.
  • Manage drilling operations, including personnel, equipment, and logistics, to ensure efficiency and safety.
  • Provide technical expertise on directional drilling techniques, wellbore positioning, and LWD operations.
  • Monitor and analyze drilling performance metrics, including real-time LWD data, to optimize well placement and reduce non-productive time.
  • Ensure compliance with HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) regulations and company policies.
  • Collaborate with engineers and field personnel to troubleshoot and resolve operational challenges.
  • Train and mentor drilling and LWD staff to enhance technical capabilities and operational efficiency.
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the oil and gas sector.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and industry stakeholders.
  • Conduct market research to identify industry trends, competitors, and potential areas for expansion.
  • Prepare and present proposals, bids, and contracts to secure new projects.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop promotional strategies and branding initiatives.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking meetings to enhance brand visibility.
  • Develop and implement sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in directional drilling, LWD operations and business development in the oil and gas industry.
  • Full proficiency of Arabic language is a must.
  • Strong understanding of directional drilling techniques, well planning, and LWD data interpretation.
  • Proven track record in business development, sales, and client relationship management.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in drilling and LWD software and business development tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Knowledge of latest industry technologies and drilling methodologies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in contract negotiation and financial planning.
  • Familiarity with regulatory and compliance requirements in the oil and gas sector.
