Description
In this role, you will be responsible for providing the highest standard of clinical care and expertise to the patients in assessment, investigation, diagnosis and treatment and follow up, whenever necessary, in the NICU and related set-ups in the Hospital under purview.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Provide expert neonatal care for critically ill newborns in the NICU, including premature infants, low birth weight infants, and those with congenital anomalies, respiratory distress, and infections.
- Diagnose and manage a wide variety of neonatal conditions, including but not limited to respiratory failure, infections, cardiac anomalies, metabolic disorders, and neurological concerns.
- Perform invasive procedures as necessary, including intubation, lumbar puncture, chest tube insertion, and umbilical line placement.
- Oversee the care of neonates in need of advanced therapies, such as continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP), mechanical ventilation, and parenteral nutrition.
- Participate in neonatal resuscitation and stabilize newborns during emergency situations.
- Supervise and guide junior medical staff, including residents and fellows, in the management of NICU patients.
- Maintain a high standard of care in line with the latest clinical guidelines and best practices.
- Offer input and advice on the management of high-risk pregnancies and delivery room resuscitations.
- Lead family meetings to discuss prognosis, treatment options, and care plans for critically ill neonates.
- Mentor, educate, and train medical residents, fellows, and other healthcare providers in neonatology and neonatal intensive care.
- Participate in the development and delivery of training programs for NICU nursing and allied health staff.
- Participate in clinical research projects related to neonatology and NICU care, contributing to improving patient outcomes.

- Familiarity with electronic health record systems.
Education & Qualifications:
- MBBS + Masters + Highest Qualification (PHD/MD/Board/Fellowship);
- Experience not less than 15 years, 9 years after the high qualifications will get Consultant level license;
- Experience not less than 9 years, 3 years after the high qualifications will get Specialist level license;
- With NICU licensed
- Already available now in Kuwait.
