Overview
This position is physically located in Kuwait in support of LOGCAP.
The Computer Service Technician applies understanding, knowledge, and guidance of information systems hardware and software to provide problem resolution, diagnosis, and solutions in a service center environment. They are responsible for recognizing, researching, isolating, and resolving first-level information systems problems, providing appropriate service, repairs, training, and follow-up. They also perform technical inspections for all work processed in the Automated Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) Bench and perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities

- Provide technical maintenance and service for all ADPE equipment.
- Evaluate equipment for malfunctions and deficiencies.
- Perform baseline procedures and hardware replacements.
- Work closely with the Systems Support Specialist, Lead (SSSL), to determine the serviceability of workstations, monitors, printers, servers, and other peripherals.
- Responsible for all final technical inspections and ensuring appropriate status entries in the work order tracking system.
- Perform monthly UBL inventories and assist with cyclical property inventories.
- Perform other duties and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications: Education/Certifications. One year of related experience may substitute for one year of education, if a degree is required. Refer to the guide below for education and experience requirements.
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be a US Citizen.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Secret Clearance.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to obtain U.S. Government Motor Vehicle Operation's License and Host Nation Driver's License are required.
- Meets requirements outlined in AR 25-2 for privileged access (IAT-I) to ISs. Certifications such as CompTIA Security+ and Microsoft 365 Certified Modern Desktop Administrator or Server+ are required in accordance with DoD 8570.1-M.
- Applicants must be Baseline & Computing Environment certified prior to hire per DoD 8570.1-M.
- Experience with A+ Certification is preferred.
- Experience: 3+ years of related experience.
- Skills:
- Effective communication of technical information in English, both written and verbal.
- Advanced PC technical support skills.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in the latest version of Microsoft Office.
- Experience using Maximo or similar work order systems.
- English competency levels: Reading - level 3, Speaking - level 3, Writing - level 3.
- Material & Equipment Used:
- Personal computer, printers, network equipment, electronic test equipment, and other office equipment.
- Physical Requirements:
- Light work, exerting up to 20 pounds occasionally, 10 pounds frequently.
- Visual Acuity:
- Ability to operate machines and perform mechanical or skilled trades tasks of a non-repetitive nature.
- Working Conditions:
- Primarily inside and outside work, not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
