Jumeirah Messilah Beach is seeking a Commis 2 to join the Bakery Kitchen. You will support the culinary team, uphold high service standards in a luxury hotel setting, and ensure food safety and hygiene across outlets.

The role requires a minimum of 5 years in a five-star hotel environment, ability to work in a multicultural team, and solid international culinary experience. The position offers attractive benefits and a comprehensive service charge package.

An opportunity has arisen for a Commis 2 to join the Bakery Kitchen at Jumeirah Messilah Beach. The role involves supporting the culinary team to enhance team spirit and maintain high standards of service within a luxury hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist colleagues in supporting culinary teams to enhance team spirit, develop credibility, respect, openness and trust.
• Report accidents and sickness immediately to the Chef de Cuisine with clear and concise details.
• Identify and request assistance prior to any breakdowns.
• Relay any breakdown related information immediately to the chef de partie to enable root cause identification and eradicate re-occurrences.
• Respond to change positively in the departmental function as dictated by the industry, company or hotel.
• Act as an ambassador of Lateral service for the team.
• Adhere to the company’s policy on Safety Procedures and Practices.
• Adhere to the company’s policy relating to Food hygiene and Safe Food Handling practices.
• Adhere to the Culinary standards relating to recipes, preparation methods and plating standards in your outlets.
• Liaise with the Stewarding Manager to ensure high standards of cleanliness are maintained in all areas of the kitchen, such as machinery, small kitchen equipment, floors and fridges.
• Ensure that operating and kitchen equipment is maintained to a good standard with minimum breakage.
• Communicate any operating equipment malfunction to the Chef de Cuisine immediately to allow for Engineering response.
• Adhere to all pre-determined set-up times and breakdowns for each meal period-event.
• Follow all control and key procedures.
• Ensure all “quality ingredients” are accurately ordered, received and stored following F.I.F.O. rotation.
• Ensure all “quality ingredients’’ are professionally prepared in accordance with recipes, plating guides, and buffet set ups, with an emphasis on maximizing production time and minimizing waste.

Experience Required:

• 5-year minimum experience in Culinary in a five-star hotel.
• Work in a multicultural environment.
• Solid International Culinary experience.

Education Qualifications: High School Graduate

Skills Required:

• Knowledge of the style of cuisine.
• Knowledge of HACCP.
• General health & safety in the workplace.
