Job description

Do you have the vision to lead engineering excellence across a cluster of iconic IHG properties? We are looking for an accomplished and forward-thinking Cluster Director of Engineering to join our leadership team at Crowne Plaza & Holiday Inn Kuwait. This role requires strategic oversight, hands-on leadership, and a drive to foster innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence.

A little taste of your day-to-day:
Every day is different, but you’ll mostly be:

Providing transformative leadership through coaching, feedback, and succession planning to develop a strong talent pipeline across the cluster.

Offering strategic guidance and executive support to the General Manager and leadership teams to meet the hotel’s goals.

Leading and supervising the entire engineering operation, including the Maintenance Request System, preventive maintenance, and capital projects.

Driving sustainability initiatives and embedding IHG’s Journey to Tomorrow goals at the property level.

Overseeing general cost controls, budgeting, and P&L performance for engineering operations, while ensuring optimal resource utilization.

Managing and administering all engineering contracts and ensuring full compliance with safety and legal regulations.

Conducting regular inspections of guest rooms, plant equipment, and back-of-house areas to ensure functionality, safety, and standards compliance.

Leading the design, pricing, and execution of CAPEX projects, from concept to commissioning.

Collaborating closely with Food & Beverage and Operations teams to support technical innovation and new concept activation.

Cultivating strong relationships with suppliers, contractors, and internal departments to drive synergy and operational efficiency.

Fostering an inclusive workplace culture, empowering your team to thrive and deliver their best every day.

Ensuring engineering services enhance guest satisfaction, operational readiness, and brand compliance.

Building and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders and fostering a proactive, service-driven environment.

What we need from you:

Extensive experience in Engineering/Maintenance operations, ideally in a leadership capacity within a multi-property or complex hotel environment.

In-depth knowledge of hospitality facilities standards, regulatory compliance, and safety practices.

A hands-on leader with a proactive mindset, capable of driving business improvement strategies and implementing robust systems.

Skilled in navigating diverse viewpoints and fostering collaboration across multicultural teams.

Strong project management skills with a proven record of delivering projects on time and within budget.

Proven financial acumen, with experience managing engineering budgets, optimizing labor, and controlling expenses.

A passion for innovation, sustainability, and continuous improvement.

A relevant degree or certification in Engineering or Facilities Management. Health & Safety training or certification is a plus.

Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.

What we offer:
At IHG, we grow talent from within and empower leaders to make a difference. You’ll be part of a passionate leadership team, driving results and shaping the future of our engineering excellence. This role offers the opportunity to lead operations at two flagship properties and be part of a global brand committed to delivering True Hospitality for everyone.
