Job Summary

A BIM Manager is responsible for implementing and managing Building Information Modelling (BIM) throughout the project lifecycle, collaborating with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners to ensure effective BIM use.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities

• Develop and implement BIM standards and workflows to ensure consistency and accuracy across projects.
• Manage the BIM project team, including BIM Specialists and Coordinators, providing training and ensuring deadlines are met.
• Provide BIM support to clients and consultants, including training and issue resolution.
• Advocate for BIM within the company and with clients, educating stakeholders on its benefits.
• Stay updated on BIM trends and technologies to ensure the use of effective tools and techniques.
• Create and manage BIM documentation, including BEPs, schedules, and reports.
• Manage BIM data exchange processes, ensuring compatibility across platforms.
• Conduct BIM training sessions for staff and clients.
• Plan, schedule, and track BIM projects to ensure timely and within-budget delivery.

Key Result Areas

• Generate Pre-contract and Post-contract BEPs.
• Create and update BIM documents (MIDIP, MDS, MBS) during the project lifecycle.
• Develop clash matrices and parameters (LOI).
• Provide technical advice and support to team members.
• Create federated models and manage folder structures in CDEs like BIM 360.
• Ensure compliance with standards such as BS EN ISO 19650.
• Prepare QA/QC checklists for BIM software.
• Coordinate weekly meetings to check clashes and discipline models.
• Publish models on BIM 360.
• Implement BIM training modules and maintain training courses.
• Develop BIM standards and publish ASR standards.
• Assist in creating BIM libraries and templates.
• Prepare validation reports for BIM milestone submissions.
• Produce and deliver models in various formats (CAD, PDF, Revit, Navisworks, IFC).
• Manage COBie and asset register requirements.
• Lead the design team to meet BIM project requirements.

Job-Specific Skills

• Proficiency in BIM software such as Revit, Navisworks, Dynamo.
• Knowledge of BIM workflows, standards, and data management.
• Ability to visualize BIM models and create 2D/3D visualizations.
• Cost estimation using BIM models.
• Coordination of BIM models and clash resolution.
• Creation of BIM documentation and reports.
