Job Description:

The Assistant HR Manager, working at the direction of the HR Manager, will provide leadership and administrative support for human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, compliance, policy development, and HR operations. This role is based at a private K-12 school within our network, supporting the institution's faculty and staff while ensuring HR processes align with best practices and labor regulations.

Primary Functions:

  1. Coordinate and implement employee recruitment, records maintenance, compensation, and benefits administration.
  2. Direct workload and task assignments for HR office staff to ensure timely and successful completion of responsibilities.
  3. Oversee vehicle fleet operations, drivers, and related administrative tasks.
  4. Develop and maintain policies and procedures for HR information systems, streamlining processes, and ensuring compliance with labor laws.
  5. Review existing policies, research and develop new policies, and make recommendations for improvements.
  6. Stay updated on labor laws and regulations, advising leadership on compliance and policy updates.
  7. Foster strong relationships with leadership, faculty, and staff to support recruitment, hiring, and employee satisfaction initiatives.
  8. Supervise the employment selection process, including reviewing applications and facilitating search committees.
  9. Oversee employee ID card production and HR-related documentation.
  10. Work closely with the Finance Director on compensation administration.
  11. Supervise benefits administration and ensure accurate processing in compliance with internal and external regulations.
  12. Develop and oversee timelines and procedures for job evaluations, performance evaluations, and employment agreements.
  13. Lead, train, and evaluate HR department staff, setting performance objectives and providing development opportunities.
  14. Manage the development and updates of employee handbooks and job descriptions.
  15. Support the integration of HR functions into institutional information systems.
  16. Maintain HR policy and procedure manuals, ensuring alignment with institutional goals.
  17. Manage the HR department budget, including forecasting and monitoring expenditures.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in human resources management, business administration, or a related field.
  2. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible HR experience in a fast-paced environment preferred.
  3. Strong knowledge of labor laws, with a preference for Kuwait Labor Law expertise preferred.
  4. Fluency in written and spoken English.
  5. Demonstrated experience in HR programming, compliance, recruitment, and employee relations.
  6. Strong negotiation, communication, and organizational skills.
  7. Ability to manage multiple complex projects while meeting deadlines.
  8. High ethical standards and ability to maintain confidentiality.
  9. Strong leadership and team management skills.
  10. Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
