Job description

The Architect shall provide new construction architectural design services.

Principal Accountabilities:

• Provide new construction architectural design services including concept and project development and scoping.
• Prepare floor plans, elevations, schematics, and renderings.
• Conduct feasibility and environmental impact studies as part of pre-design services.
• Select a site or specify design requirements.
• Prepare drawings and present ideas for client review.
• Develop final construction plans showing the building’s appearance and details.
• Ensure compliance with building codes, zoning laws, fire regulations, and other ordinances.
• Implement necessary changes during planning and design phases.
• Oversee construction inspections, quality control, and submittal reviews.
• Attend meetings as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Note: Living and working conditions at the assignment location may be remote and challenging, including long hours and exposure to weather and hazards. Personnel should be prepared for short notice relocations under adverse conditions.

Minimum Qualifications:

• At least five (5) years of experience in design/construction, capable of providing comprehensive architectural services including concept development, planning, and rendering.
• Bachelor's degree in architecture from a NAAB-accredited program.
• Registered Architect (RA) license preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD 2012 or later and other graphic software.
• Experience in developing plans, statements of work, specifications, cost estimates, and schedules for facility projects.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance; US citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of engineering principles, techniques, and equipment.
• Ability to independently solve design problems and make decisions.
• Experience in providing justifications, cost estimates, and project monitoring.
• Knowledge of IBC, NFPA, NETA, NEC, and related codes and standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team.
• Skill in creating designs suitable for local contractors and compliant with requirements.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
