Job Description

Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and carry out repair and routine maintenance duties on HVAC equipment within building facilities. Coordinate with contracted vendors to ensure optimal functioning of HVAC systems. Perform inspections, maintenance, repairs, and installations of air conditioning systems, including DDC/BMS building control, cooling systems, refrigerators, ice machines, refrigerated water coolers, and similar equipment. Conduct maintenance checks on heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. Install, monitor performance, and maintain HVAC, laundry, and kitchen-related equipment (e.g., Chillers, Air Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Refrigeration Systems, Split AC Units, Ducted AC Units).
2. Interpret plans, sketches, wiring diagrams, specifications, or verbal instructions.
3. Read repair manuals and liaise with other professionals.
4. Conduct tests and interpret results to make effective recommendations.
5. Write reports, safety regulations, and preventative maintenance plans.
6. Stay updated on advancements in the field and attend workshops as required.
7. Senior technicians may work with assistants and other maintenance staff such as carpenters, plumbers, or painters to complete tasks.
8. Requisition materials and maintain stock.
9. Supervise compliance with safety standards.
10. Perform periodic preventive maintenance on all HVAC, kitchen, and laundry equipment.
11. Ensure quality and patient safety practices are followed.
12. Provide or promote people-centered care.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
14. Perform preventive maintenance on kitchen exhaust ecology units as scheduled.

Desired Candidate Profile

Education: Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Diploma, ITI, or equivalent.

Experience: 3 to 5 years of relevant experience. Thorough knowledge of electromechanical equipment such as pumps, controls, compressors, and knowledge of communication and alarm systems is desirable.

Language: Proficiency in both conversational and written English. Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
