A teacher in the School District of Philadelphia plans and teaches the subject area following the scope and sequence for all courses. • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.

• Valid Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Instructional Certificate in the respective grade level, with endorsements in the respective subject area, or
• Meet requirements to obtain an emergency permit and consistently meet its requirements until instructional certification is issued.
