Job summary

Apex Space, Inc. is seeking a Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst to join our Finance team in Los Angeles. This role focuses on headcount planning, modeling, and serving as the finance partner to Engineering and R&D leadership.

You will drive planning, reporting, and analysis to support a fast-moving aerospace business. The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of FP&A experience, strong financial modeling and forecasting skills, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities. U.S.

Qualifications

3–5 years of relevant experience in FP&A, corporate finance, or a comparable analytical finance role.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
Strong command of financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
Familiarity with purchase order and purchase requisition approval processes for multi-million-dollar projects.
Ability to be flexible and adapt quickly to shifting priorities in a dynamic environment.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner effectively with senior leadership and technical (Engineering/R&D) stakeholders.
U.S. Person status is required as this position needs to access export controlled data.

Responsibilities

Headcount ownership: Own headcount planning and modeling across the company, maintaining forecasts.
Engineering partnership: Finance partner to Engineering and R&D leadership.
Planning cycles: Contribute to annual budget, reforecasts, and long-range planning.
Variance analysis: Explain drivers of budget-to-actual and forecast-to-actual differences.
Reporting: Assist with monthly and quarterly executive materials.
Process improvement: Identify and implement FP&A workflow enhancements.
PO/PR support: Approve and track PO/PR for multi-million-dollar projects.
