What is the opportunity?

As a Technical Support Engineer within the Enterprise Technology Group, you will learn, grow, and contribute as part of a highly competent IT Department, supporting a leading-edge mixed cloud and on-premises environment. This role is based in Chennai, India.

Role mandate

This role is accountable for maintaining the cloud applications and platforms as well as on-premises infrastructure for the organization, responsible for identifying and resolving any issues in the domain to deliver an excellent end-user experience.

Reports to

This role reports to the Manager, Technology Group.

Primary Responsibilities
  1. Perform implementation, administration, and support responsibilities for cloud applications, platforms, and systems including:
    1. Microsoft 365
    2. Microsoft Azure cloud
    3. Microsoft End Point management / Intune
    4. Windows and Linux technology stack
    5. Active Directory
    6. Atlassian products – Jira, Confluence
    7. Network Administration (routers, firewalls, switches)
    8. Security Patching & Vulnerability management
    9. Backups and Restores
    10. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies
    11. Provisioning of end user devices
    12. Software distribution
    13. Upgrades, repairs, and preventive maintenance on IT equipment
    14. System security

Provide Help Desk support, including:

  1. Support to end users experiencing hardware, software, and networking issues on-site or via remote-access systems.
  2. Incident response and service request management.
  3. Research, diagnose, troubleshoot, and identify solutions to resolve system issues.
  4. Collaborate with stakeholders and within the team to ensure time-bound resolution of issues and service requests.
  5. Follow standard procedures for proper escalation of unresolved issues.
  6. Ensure proper recording, documentation, and closure of support tickets as per IT Service Management standards.
  7. Adhere to established Change Management process standards.
  8. Participate in Team Meetings, Project Sprints, and other collaborations.
  9. Work on complex technical projects in an Agile environment.
  10. End user training for employees.
  11. Prepare user documentation, procedures, and relevant training materials.
  12. Assist in statistical data capture of key metrics for IT reporting.
  13. Research and report on new technologies that would help the organization meet new and ever-changing business goals and requirements.
  14. Proactive issue remediation and service mindset to maintain excellent end user experience.
Requirements

Must-have:

  1. Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent.
  2. 4-8 years of proven working experience in the field of IT administration.
  3. Sound knowledge in cloud concepts and working experience in at least one cloud platform, preferably Microsoft Azure.
  4. Experience in administering Microsoft 365 suite of applications.
  5. Solid experience with Infrastructure components (Compute, Storage, Networking, virtualization).
  6. Familiarity with Atlassian Jira and Confluence.
  7. Excellent troubleshooting skills with experience in issue triaging and resolution as per ITSM standards.
  8. Good interpersonal skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  9. A genuine passion for technology.
  10. A love for helping people and solving problems.
  11. An instinct to communicate and collaborate with others.
  12. A desire to work hard, learn, and grow.
  13. Ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail and follow-up skills.
  14. Strong work ethic and flexibility to take on varied responsibilities.
  15. Must be willing to work on a roster-based rotational shift to provide overlapping time zone support.

Nice-to-have:

  1. Experience working with large enterprise IT environments.
  2. Experience with automation software.
  3. Experience with IaC (Infrastructure as Code) deployment.
  4. Experience with Containers (Docker / Kubernetes).
  5. Scripting skills.
  6. Advanced knowledge of information security.
