Job summary

Straive, a leading provider of e-publishing and content processing, seeks an XML Executive to join its production team in India. You will structure, convert, format, and validate digital content using XML standards to ensure error-free outputs aligned with client DTDS and schemas.

The role requires hands-on XML conversion, tagging, and schema validation, with experience in XML editors and regex tools. Freshers with strong XML training may be considered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/IT/VC or related field.
• 13 years of hands-on XML conversion/tagging experience in the e-Publishing or ITES domain.
• Fresher(s) with strong XML training may be considered.

Responsibilities

• XML Conversion & Tagging: Convert source files to structured XML formats.
• Schema & DTD Validation: Validate against DTDs, XML Schemas, MathML, and JATS/BITS.
• Quality Assurance: Run syntax checks and QC using XML tools.

Job description

We are looking for a detail-oriented XML Executive to join our production team. In this role, you will structure, convert, format, and validate digital content (books, journals, and STM content) using XML standards to ensure error-free outputs aligned with client-specific Document Type Definitions (DTDs) and schemas.

Key Responsibilities

• XML Conversion & Tagging: Convert source files (MS Word, PDF, Indesign, HTML) into structured XML formats using automated parsers and manual tagging techniques.
• Schema & DTD Validation: Perform validation checks against specific DTDs, XML Schemas (XSD), MathML, and JATS/BITS frameworks to maintain metadata accuracy.
• Quality Assurance: Run syntax checks, structural quality checks (QC), and parser errors troubleshooting using XML tools (e.g., Oxygen XML Editor, Notepad++).

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Visual Communication, or any relevant graduate stream.
• Experience: 13 years of hands‑on experience in XML conversion/tagging within the e‑Publishing, data processing, or ITES domain (Freshers with strong XML training may be considered).
• Technical Proficiency:
• Strong knowledge of XML, HTML, DTD, XML Schema, and MathML.
• Working knowledge of XML editors like Epsilon XML or Oxygen XML.
• Basic understanding of MS Office (Word, Excel) and regex find/replace tools.
