As a Trainee Engineer, you'll be part of a dynamic team learning and applying engineering principles across various projects — ideal for recent graduates. We're expanding our team for an XML-based content processing and digital accessibility project, working on content conversion, XML tagging, metadata creation, accessibility remediation, and quality validation.The role involves working with structured content and ensuring documents meet accessibility standards, client guidelines, and project specifications. You'll gain hands-on experience in XML workflows, digital publishing, document accessibility, validation, and quality assurance.
Responsibilities
- Perform XML tagging and content structuring according to project guidelines
- Convert documents into XML and other required digital formats
- Perform PDF/EPUB accessibility remediation and ensure documents meet defined accessibility standards
- Apply semantic tagging and maintain proper document structure, including headings, paragraphs, lists, tables, links, and images
- Define and verify appropriate reading order and document navigation
- Add and validate appropriate alternative text (Alt Text) for images and other non-text content
- Validate XML, PDF, and EPUB files using project-specific guidelines and accessibility validation tools
- Identify, analyze, and resolve accessibility errors and warnings
- Perform quality checks and correct content, tagging, structural, and accessibility issues
- Create and maintain accurate metadata
- Ensure deliverables meet quality, accuracy, and accessibility requirements within defined timelines
- Maintain project productivity and accuracy targets
- Follow client-specific standards, workflows, and project specifications
Requirements
- Any Graduate / Undergraduate — freshers and experienced candidates can apply
- Basic computer knowledge is mandatory
- Willingness to work in a process-oriented and quality-focused environment
- Good attention to detail and ability to identify and resolve errors
- Basic understanding of content conversion and document processing workflows
- Understanding of data validation and quality assurance processes
- Preferred: Experience or knowledge of XML, EPUB, HTML, SGML, or Digital Publishing projects
- Knowledge of accessibility standards such as WCAG and PDF/UA is preferred
- Knowledge of PDF/EPUB accessibility remediation is preferred
- Familiarity with semantic tagging, reading order, headings, tables, lists, links, images, Alt Text, and document structure
- Experience with accessibility testing and validation tools is an advantage
- Ability to deliver quality-compliant files within defined timelines while following client guidelines and project specifications

- Training period: 1 month
