About the job:

The Compliance, Standards, and Integrity (CSI) team is dedicated to formulating risk-based strategies and comprehensive solutions for the effective management of employment-related risks. Our mandate goes beyond basic compliance. We proactively establish industry benchmarks for mitigating HR and workforce data risks. We apply a distinctive "Google lens" to all our undertakings, ensuring that our methodologies, processes, and policies are not only fully compliant but also optimally aligned with our unique operational requirements and organizational culture. Within CSI, we propel global initiatives encompassing workforce data security and privacy, labor and employment compliance, and the development of regulatory-driven workplace policies and training programs.

As a Workforce Data Privacy Manager, you will advocate the evolution of Google’s workforce data compliance and privacy programs. You will be at the forefront of "Privacy by Design," ensuring that People Operations’ digital transformation—specifically the integration of AI solutions—remains responsible, ethical, and globally compliant. You will serve as a critical bridge between People Operations, HR Engineering, and Google’s broader privacy/compliance ecosystem, including Legal, Privacy and Compliance teams. Your mission is to translate a complex, shifting regulatory landscape into scalable, risk-based strategies that protect our applicants, candidates, and employees worldwide. Responsibilities:
  • Design and execute comprehensive workforce privacy strategies, embedding "Privacy by Design" into people operations roadmaps and AI-enabled user journeys.
  • Analyze evolving global regulations, including GDPR and the EU AI act. Update internal policies and HR frameworks to ensure seamless compliance and mitigate potential risks across different operational landscapes.
  • Manage complex, high-impact privacy initiatives across global markets. Track timelines, mitigate cross-functional risks, and utilize key performance indicators to measure program health, drive accountability, and ensure all deliverables meet strategic goals.
  • Serve as the primary lead for high-priority privacy escalations and regulatory inquiries. Conduct thorough cross-functional investigations to resolve complex issues with speed and transparency.
  • Bridge different perspectives across Legal, Compliance, and HR Engineering to unify data management strategies. Develop comprehensive communication plans, keeping leadership informed of critical risks and mitigation paths.
