Job summary

Birlasoft is seeking a Windchill Process Consultant to analyze, design and optimize PLM business processes in Windchill, ensuring alignment between engineering, manufacturing, quality and IT teams. The role involves leading AS-IS and TO-BE workshops, defining functional requirements, and guiding configuration decisions across PDMLink and BOM management.

Location options include Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, and Noida, with a focus on delivering go-live readiness and supporting

• Provide functional guidance across Windchill modules such as PDMLink and BOM/Configuration Management.
• Validate process implementation during SIT and UAT; support defect triage and resolution.
• Assist in organizational change management and training material creation.

Windchill Process/Principal Consultant

Birlasoft is looking for Windchill Process Consultant who will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and optimizing PLM business processes in PTC Windchill, ensuring alignment between engineering, manufacturing, quality, and enterprise IT teams.

Location: Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai, Pune, Noida

Key Responsibilities

PLM Process Analysis & Design

• Lead AS-IS and TO-BE process workshops with business stakeholders


• Analyze and design Windchill processes for: Part, BOM, and Document Management, Change & Configuration Management, Release and approval workflows


• Translate business processes into clear functional requirements and solution proposals


• Provide functional guidance across Windchill modules such as: PDMLink Change Management, BOM & Configuration Management, ProjectLink / PartsLink (as applicable)


• Recommend OOTB vs configuration vs customization approaches


• Work with technical teams to validate and refine functional feasibility


• Validate process implementation during SIT and UAT


• Support functional defect triage and resolution


• Support organizational change management from process perspective


• Prepare and validate: User process flows, Training material and SOPs


• Conduct user walkthroughs, demos, and UAT supports


• Ensure business readiness for go-live


• Support process impact analysis for: Windchill upgrades, Data migration programs


• Validate migrated data from process correctness perspective


• Assist in stabilization and hypercare support

Required Skills

• Strong experience as a PLM / Windchill Process or Functional Consultant


• Deep understanding of: Engineering change processes, Configuration & release governance, Product structure and BOM management


• Ability to convert business processes into functional specifications


• Strong hands-on exposure to PTC Windchill


• Experience working with PDMLink (mandatory)


• Exposure to MPMLink, PartsLink, or Supplier Management (SUMA) is a plus


• Typically 6-12 years of experience in PLM / Windchill programs


• Experience across Manufacturing, Automotive, Industrial, or Medical Devices domains preferred


• Strong workshop facilitation and communication skills


• Ability to bridge Business and IT


• Structured documentation and analytical capability


• Collaborative and customer-focused mindset.
