Job summary

Capgemini in Chennai, India is seeking an experienced Configuration Engineer to translate ISM and business requests into technical configuration requirements for wind turbine projects. You will create and maintain Options, Choices, and BOM structures in Windchill, link them to Option Sets, and support PFMP transfers to CWB, collaborating with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and IT.

Qualifications

• BE or MSc in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• Wind turbine experience is required.
• Experience with BOM management.
• Knowledge of Windchill PDMLink product configuration.
• Experience with Option Pools, Options, Choices, and Option Sets.
• Understanding of Configurable BOM and Variant Management.
• Awareness of NPR, CR/CN processes.
• Proficiency in Creo CAD.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess impacts on existing Option Sets, configuration logic, product structures, and downstream systems.
• Create and maintain Options and Choices in Windchill.

• Export configuration data and perform PFMP transfers to CWB.
• Create, maintain, and validate configuration rules in CWB.
• Analyze and resolve configuration and rule-related issues.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, Manufacturing, and IT stakeholders.
• Prepare and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and training materials.
• Provide user support for configuration-related activities and enhancements.
• Item Creation / NPR process awareness / CR/CN processing are needed.
