Job summary

Amazon Inc. is seeking a Site WHS Officer in Bengaluru, India to communicate safety policies clearly and train Operations Leaders on safety standards. The role focuses on implementing safety programs, identifying best practices, and continuously improving environmental and ergonomic controls across the site.

The candidate will work within a 5-day week with variable days off due to shift patterns and business needs. Prior EHS experience is required.

Qualifications

• Experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 1+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Communicate safety policies clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Instruct Operations Leaders and assist site teams in applying safety standards.

Key job responsibilities

The Site WHS Officer must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. The Site WHS Officer will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company safety policies. The Site WHS Officer will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.

We have a 5-day work week but given the 7 days a week operation, the 2 scheduled days off will vary based on shift patterns and business needs.

Basic Qualifications

• Experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 1+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs or in work health and safety.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related field
• Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel
