Job summary

Amazon seeks a Site WHS Officer to partner with our Fulfillment Center operations team and execute safety policies to ensure compliance with local regulations. You will lead continuous improvement to reduce ergonomic and conditional risks, delivering safe, healthful work environments for Associates.

You will train Operations Leaders in safety standards, perform risk assessments and safety data analysis, and influence change through clear, data-driven messaging, with a 5-day week and variable

Qualifications

• Experience in an environmental Health & Safety (EHS) related field.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• 1+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS or environmental programs.
• Master's degree in Health and Safety or a related field.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Outlook, and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Communicate safety policies clearly, verbally and in writing.
• Instruct and train Operations Leaders in safety standards and assist site teams.
• Identify best practices and improve safety policies continuously.
• Possess safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and apply it with Operations.
• Build trust with the Operations team and influence safety improvements.

Job description

The Site WHS Officer will be responsible for partnering with a site operations team in a Fulfillment Center/QC Superstore to execute company safety policies and ensure compliance to all applicable local and regional regulations. By leveraging lean principles and kaizens, this individual will lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce conditional and ergonomic risk in our processes to ensure a safe and healthful working environment for our Associates. The Site WHS Officer must demonstrate the ability to build trust and confidence with the Operations Team and influence change through providing comprehensive risk assessments and safety data analysis.

Key job responsibilities

The Site WHS Officer must be an effective communicator and send clear, concise and consistent messages, both verbally and in writing. This individual must instruct and train Operations Leaders in company safety policies and assist the operations site teams in incorporating our safety standards at their site. The Site WHS Officer will be required to identify best practices and incorporate these best practices into our standards to continuously improve company safety policies. The Site WHS Officer will be required to possess excellent safety program and relevant safety, environmental and ergonomic knowledge and demonstrates this expertise when working with Operations.
We have a 5-day work week but given the 7 days a week operation, the 2 scheduled days off will vary based on shift patterns and business needs.
