The Workflow Engine platform is the core of Whatfix’s low-code authoring experience and provides a seamless playtime experience for users. Its goals include developing industry-leading element detection and contextualization platforms with reliable, no-code, and maintenance-free algorithms. It aims for simplicity in setup and consumption, reusability, and self-serviceability for content maintenance and debugging activities. Your Opportunity:

As part of the Workflow Engine Team @Whatfix, you’ll have the opportunity to make a difference by being a part of the development team that builds future forward products. One of the key attributes of this job is that you are required to continuously innovate and apply technology to provide business 360 views of Whatfix customers.

Key Responsibility:

1. Provide technical leadership to the team of engineers and ensure the quality of deliverables.
2. Work closely with architects and ensure architectural consistency and technical excellence of the products and platforms.
3. Work with stakeholders to understand their requirements and translate them into technical solutions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address all technical dependencies.
4. Develop technical roadmaps and provide guidance on the selection of technologies and tools.
5. Mentor and coach team members to improve their technical and leadership skills.
6. Ensure that the development process is well-documented and adheres to industry best practices.
7. Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment activities.
8. Continuously improve the performance, scalability, and reliability of the systems.
9. Actively participate in technical innovations, external presentations, technical publications etc.

Your Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• 9+ years of experience as a full stack developer.
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as JS, TypeScript, Java.
• Experience in leading and mentoring teams of engineers.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Must-Have:

1. Solid understanding of JavaScript & TypeScript.
2. Deep understanding of JavaScript and its working across different browsers – Deep knowledge of Browser(s) architecture & internal working (iFrame, ShadowDOM & Rendering of webpages).
3. Core Java Basics & OOPs concepts – Understanding of MVC, MVVM, MVP, and other UI design patterns.
4. Hands-on with HTML, CSS & Core Java – Browser Profiling & Debugging.
5. Solid understanding of design principles and patterns.
6. Solid problem-solving skills with understanding of data structure and algorithms.
7. Any no-sql db.
8. Knowledge of front-end compilers and bundlers.
9. Experience in Unit Testing and Automation.
10. Experience in CI/CD, Jenkins.
11. Analyze Functional & Non-Functional requirements with effort estimation and deployment strategies.
12. Hands-on in Architecting and developing large scale applications.
13. Hands-on debugging skills.
14. Design for performance, scalability, fault tolerance and high availability.

Good to Have:

1. Browser Extension understanding.
2. Exposure to React & GWT/Swing/AWT.
