Job summary

Siemens Mobility is seeking a Welding Supervisor based in Aurangabad to lead welding activities on rail-related projects. You will ensure compliance with welding standards, supervise welders, and drive continuous improvement in processes and quality metrics.

You will coordinate training, audits, and documentation, while supporting production engineering in welding sequencing and times. The role involves near-term travel to other sites within India as needed.

Qualifications

• BE Mechanical with sound knowledge of Welding in railway industry.
• Knowledge of EN ISO 15085, EN ISO 5817, DVS 1622; IWE / IWT qualification preferred.
• NDT Certification as per EN 9712 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute health and safety plans in the workplace according to legal guidelines, Customer and organization requirements.
• Responsible for inspection and compliance with the requirements set out in the welding standards.
• Inspect and monitor the operational planning of welders as per qualification.
• Train or monitor the welders and fitters in relation to drawing specifications, pre-heating, welding sequence, welding parameters and joint geometry and designing root, intermediate and final runs.
• Perform a visual inspection on welded running gear frames and components.
• Documentation of the performed visual inspection.
• Collaborate / support production engineering in relation to the recording of specified times, creation of welding sequence plans.
• Supervise welding repairs.
• Joint responsibility for the storage of additional materials, welding machine use or required equipment.
• Operative implementation and further development of test instructions and quality standards within MF-AUR, focusing on the welding supervisors.
• Support internal & external audits on welding supervision.
• Assessment and interpretation of process KPIs.
• Blocking of products and processes where deviations occurred.
• Statistical evaluation of test and measurement results.
• Initiative in terms of continuous improvement and SPS.

We are looking for Welding Supervisor

You’ll make a difference by

• Perform a visual inspection (VT - test) on welded running gear frames and components
• Documentation of the performed visual inspection (VT - test)
• Collaborate / support production engineering in relation to the recording of specified times, creation of welding sequence plans, definition of improvement measures
• Supervise welding repairs
• Joint responsibility for the storage of additional materials, welding machine use or required equipment
• Operative implementation and further development of test instructions and quality standards within MF-AUR, focusing on the welding supervisors
• Support internal & external audits on welding supervision
• Assessment and interpretation of process KPIs
• Blocking of products and processes were necessary in the case of any deviations
• Statistical evaluation of test and measurement results
• Initiative in terms of continuous improvement and SPS

Desired Skills

• BE Mechanical with sound knowledge of Welding in railway industry,
• Knowledge of technical welding standards such as: EN ISO 15085, EN ISO 5817, DVS 1622 , IWE / IWT qualification will be preferred. Well-founded technical expertise in welding.
• NDT Certification as per EN 9712 will be preferred.
