Job summary

Siemens Mobility in India is seeking a Production Engineer to strengthen wheelset production, including pressing, gauging, machining coordination, and inspection. The role requires reading drawings, applying CAPA, and maintaining MBOM/EBOM data with change management.

You will collaborate with suppliers and HQ to ensure safety and compliance across sites. Strong knowledge of SAP and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Creo, Visio) and 5–8 years of relevant experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience.
• Knowledge of English desirable.
• Knowledge of SAP.
• Create cost calculations.
• Should know AutoCAD, Creo, Visio.

Responsibilities

• Oversee wheelset production steps: pressing, gauging, machining coordination, and final inspection.
• Design tools, manage changes, and implement CAPA to address non-conformities.
• Read engineering drawings and tolerances to ensure compliance.
• Support bogie assembly requirements for production and QA.
• Apply lean methods like value stream mapping and time studies.

We are looking for Production Engineering

You’ll make a difference by

• Industrial activity of wheelset including wheel pressing, gauging, machining coordination, and final inspection, Tool design experience, Change management, handle non-conformities, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective / preventive actions (CAPA), Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings & tolerances.
• Knows all bogie assembly-related requirements; supports the production & quality assurance based on general rules of design (e.g. screw extension).
• Knowledge of special process in Rolling stock.
• Knowledge of plant layout, routing, VSM, method time calculations, time study and other lean tools.
• Checking BOMs, documents and changes regarding completeness and compliance with local requirements. clarification of open topics & adjustment of documents.
• Assurance of communication with regard to Engineering-relevant data with headquarters (e.g. change requests of the production, NCR's, )
• Assurance of product safety about the processes and methods; duty to warn if processes and methods do not meet the legal requirements and the general rules of design.
• Evaluation of deviations; handling of NCR's with regard to Engineering;
• Create assembly work instruction
• Maintain MBOM, EBOM and changes through Change Management.
• Have knowledge of Jig and Fixture and support its development with supplier
