Job summary

Daskalos is seeking a Website Engineering Lead in India to build and maintain high-performance WordPress websites. You will work with developers to deliver enhancements, review code, and ensure reliable releases while partnering with Product and Marketing to drive website initiatives.

Responsibilities include developing custom WordPress themes/plugins, integrating Salesforce, optimizing Core Web Vitals, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of professional WordPress development experience.
• Strong OOP knowledge in PHP 8+.
• Experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins.
• Familiarity with Salesforce integration via APIs.
• Experience with performance optimization and Core Web Vitals.
• Proficient in Git, CI/CD, testing and deployment workflows.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and communication skills.

You'll work closely with developers to deliver website enhancements, review code, maintain engineering standards, and ensure reliable releases. You'll also partner with the Product, and Marketing teams to deliver website initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Build and maintain custom WordPress themes, plugins, and reusable components
• Develop solutions using WordPress APIs, hooks, filters, custom post types, taxonomies, metadata, REST APIs, and third-party integrations
• Review code and ensure high standards for quality, security, performance, and maintainability
• Work with developers to plan, coordinate, and deliver website releases
• Optimize website performance, Core Web Vitals, technical SEO, analytics, Salesforce integrations, and third-party services
• Support CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and production releases

Required Skills & Experience

• 5–7 years of professional experience developing WordPress applications using PHP (PHP 8+) with strong OOP knowledge
• Strong expertise in:
• Custom WordPress themes and plugins
• WordPress hooks, filters, APIs, REST APIs, and Composer
• Custom Post Types, Taxonomies, and Metadata
• Experience integrating Salesforce with WordPress using APIs or middleware
• Experience optimizing website performance and Core Web Vitals
• Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and automated testing
• Good understanding of MySQL, Linux, caching, CDN, HTTP, website security, and API integrations
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills

Nice to Have

• Experience with WordPress Multisite or enterprise WordPress projects
• Experience with Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
