Down To Earth, launched in 1992, is the pioneer environmental magazine in India and Down To Earth, Hindi launched in 2016. With both print and digital presence, we are committed to making people aware of the politics of environment and development by filling critical information gaps. Our stories are based on ground reportage from villages, farms, forests, research labs, hospitals, and industries in India as well as in other countries, and involve in-depth analyses of policies and regulations.

We are looking for Sub Editor for our Hindi website. The applicant will have to fulfill the following criteria.

Job Description

Requirements:

1. Candidates should have minimum three years of extensive editing experience in the Hindi news website.
2. Should have the skill to rewrite scattered copy.
3. Do not use unnecessary English words in the copy.
4. Be efficient in working quickly as per the needs of the web.
5. Avoid Google gives priority to paraphrase rather than translation.
6. Should have the basic understanding of developmental and environmental issues or, at least, a keen interest in these subjects.
7. One who avoids taking the help of Google translator while translating from English to Hindi.
8. With the ability to create stories from research papers.
9. Must have knowledge of CMS, SEO and social media.
