Job summary

Aptean India seeks a proactive Web Content Specialist to publish and maintain web content across its portfolio sites. You will transform SEO/marketing input into accurate, current, search-ready pages using WordPress, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and accessibility standards.

You will handle updates from regional teams, optimize on-page SEO, fix issues, and ensure content quality across devices. This role reports to the Director of Web Optimisation within Global Digital Marketing.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience publishing and managing content in WordPress.
• Experience with image editing, including resizing images and converting formats.
• Knowledge of HTML and CSS, on-page SEO, GDPR, and WCAG accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Publish new content and updates in WordPress across portfolio sites, ensuring content is accurate, up to date, and live on time.
• Handle routine update requests from SEO, content, and regional marketing teams, including copy, images, links, and resources.
• Apply on-page SEO elements when publishing, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text, and internal links.
• Keep existing pages current by fixing broken links and updating information.
• Check pages before and after publishing for accuracy, formatting, and responsiveness across devices.
• Ensure content follows Aptean brand guidelines and site templates and style.
• Ensure GDPR compliance and accessibility standards (WCAG).
• Track and prioritise publishing requests to deliver work on time.
• Flag issues to WordPress Developer, QA Engineer, or CRO Lead.

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY

Aptean is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Web Content Specialist to publish and maintain web content across its portfolio websites. The role turns content from SEO and marketing teams into accurate, well-built, current, consistent, and search-ready pages.

SCOPE

Publishes and maintains content across Logility, Merlin Business Software, SSG Insight, and other English-language portfolio websites. The role covers WordPress publishing, routine content updates, on-page SEO, content maintenance, quality assurance, brand consistency, GDPR and accessibility compliance, request management, and issue reporting.

ORGANIZATION

Reports to the Director of Web Optimisation within the Global Digital Marketing team.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Publish new content and updates in WordPress across the portfolio sites, ensuring content is accurate, up to date, and live on time.
• Handle routine update requests from the SEO, content, and regional marketing teams, including copy, images, links, and resources.
• Apply on-page SEO elements when publishing, including titles, meta descriptions, headings, alt text, and internal links, following guidance from the SEO Specialist.
• Keep existing pages current by fixing broken links, updating outdated information, and retiring old content.
• Check every page before and after publishing for accuracy, formatting, and responsiveness across devices.
• Ensure content follows Aptean brand guidelines and each site's templates and style.
• Ensure published content meets GDPR requirements and web accessibility standards, including WCAG.
• Track and prioritise publishing requests so work is delivered on time and nothing is missed.
• Flag technical issues, broken journeys, or content problems to the WordPress Developer, QA Engineer, or CRO Lead.

Work Experience

Hands-on experience publishing and managing content in WordPress. Experience with image editing, including resizing images, converting image file formats, and making minor adjustments before uploading, is beneficial.

Knowledge

Working knowledge of HTML and CSS, on-page SEO, content formatting, GDPR, web accessibility standards including WCAG, responsive web presentation, WordPress publishing, and the importance of titles, headings, links, and alt text.

Skills And Abilities

Ability to publish and format content accurately, manage multiple requests and deadlines, perform detailed quality assurance, maintain brand consistency, communicate effectively with colleagues across regions, identify and report issues, ask the right questions, and develop skills in SEO, web publishing, and optimisation.
