Job description

Founded by alumni of IIT Kharagpur & BIT Mesra, our team unites veteran ISRO & DRDO scientists, defense experts, and ex-bureaucrats.

We are thrilled to be the youngest space tech startup awarded the prestigious IEI Industry Excellence Award by the Institution of Engineers (India)!

What We Do:

We are an end-to-end space tech powerhouse offering complete satellite design, manufacturing, launch services, ground stations, and cutting-edge AI platforms.

Meet TRINETRA—our high-resolution Earth Observation constellation! Packed with onboard edge computing and multi-spectral visible/thermal payloads, TRINETRA is built to revolutionize surveillance and civilian remote sensing.

Driven by our state-of-the-art Bangalore R&D Hub—located right in the neighborhood of ISRO and DRDO centers—we deliver actionable, real-time satellite intelligence to power governance, security, and defense across India! Tips: Provide a summary of the role, what success in the position looks like, and how this role fits into the organization overall.

Apexorbitalx Pvt. Ltd. is looking for a talented and driven Mechanical Design & Analysis Engineer to take ownership of mechanical design, CAD development, simulation, prototyping, testing, and design optimization for our advanced aerospace and defence systems.

  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models, assemblies, and manufacturing drawings for mechanical and aerospace components.
  • Perform mechanical design and engineering calculations for structures, mechanisms, enclosures, mounts, and subsystems.
  • Conduct FEA/structural analysis, including static, modal, thermal, buckling, vibration, and fatigue analysis as required.
  • Design components considering strength, stiffness, weight, thermal performance, manufacturability, and reliability.
  • Perform design optimization and DFM/DFA to improve performance, reduce weight, and simplify manufacturing.
  • Support material selection based on mechanical, thermal, environmental, and application requirements.
  • Develop and maintain BOMs, engineering drawings, specifications, and design documentation.
  • Work closely with manufacturing teams on prototyping, fabrication, assembly, and design validation.
  • Analyze test results and implement design improvements based on experimental and simulation data.
  • Support prototype development, integration, qualification, and environmental testing.
  • Perform tolerance analysis, GD&T, and engineering change management.
  • Collaborate with electronics, systems, materials, manufacturing, and aerospace engineering teams.
  • Contribute to the development of lightweight, high-performance mechanical systems for aerospace and defence applications.

What’s in it for you?

  • Fuel your growth: Competitive salary tailored to your experience and interview performance.
  • Own a piece of the sky: Eligible candidates get access to company ESOPs as per policy—because when our hardware launches, you own a piece of the victory!
  • Your ticket to the frontier: Join us and get a front-row seat (and a free virtual ride!) into deep space tech!

Qualifications

  • Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field or domain

—plus a passion for pushing hardware to the edge of space!

Command Chain: Reporting directly to the Head of Engineering

Commitment: Full-Time | Onsite (Where the hardware magic happens!)

  • 2–3 Years of hands-on space/hardware experience for B.E. / B.Tech / M.E. / M.Tech
  • 5+ Years of deep technical execution for Diploma Engineers

Language Check: You don't need to be a fluent English orator! Basic working English is totally fine—what matters to us is that you speak fluent Hardware. If you can read schematics, decipher PCB layouts, debug firmware, and understand the exact language circuits and microcontrollers speak, you'll fit right in!

Grades vs. Passion: Don't stress if you have an average CGPA! We don't hire textbook memorizers. We want the builder who's obsessed with tinkering in the lab, has built crazy projects from scratch, and actually loves getting their hands dirty with hardware.
