ESK Technova Softtech in Hyderabad seeks an Audio Engineer (Post-Production / Final Mix) to shepherd the final audio for dubbed content, balancing dialogue with M&E and delivering broadcast-ready masters.
You will edit dialogue, verify lip-sync, ensure loudness compliance, export stems, and maintain clean DAW sessions while coordinating with translators and directors for retakes.
ROLE SUMMARY Responsible for the final audio stage of dubbed content — taking recorded/generated dialogue tracks, cleaning and balancing them, mixing against M&E (Music & Effects) stems, and delivering broadcast/OTT-ready masters that meet client loudness and technical specifications.
1. Dialogue editing & cleanup — de-noise, de-click, de-ess, breath control, plosive removal, room-tone matching across takes.
2. Sync verification — confirm dubbed dialogue sits correctly against picture; fine-shift lines where lip-sync/isochrony drifts.
3. Final mix — balance dialogue (DLG) against M&E stems so the dub sits naturally in the original soundscape; match perspective (on-camera vs off-camera, close vs distant), apply reverb/space to match scene acoustics.
4. Loudness compliance — deliver to spec per platform: broadcast (EBU R128 / -23 LUFS) and OTT (e.g. Netflix -27 LUFS dialogue-gated, true peak -2 dBTP), and adapt when a client sheet specifies otherwise.
5. QC — full listen-through of every deliverable; catch clicks, dropouts, sync slips, level jumps, missed lines, untranslated gaps before delivery.
6. Stem & deliverable management — export final mix plus split stems (DLG/M&E/FMX) in required formats; correct sample rate, bit depth, channel layout, file naming per client convention.
7. Session hygiene — organized, labeled, archivable DAW sessions; versioning discipline so any mix can be recalled and revised.
8. Coordination — work with translators/directors on retake calls; flag lines that cannot be fixed in mix and need re-recording or regeneration.
Strong DAW proficiency: Pro Tools and/or Nuendo (Nuendo preferred for dubbing workflows); ability to adapt to in-house tools.
Restoration tools: iZotope RX (or equivalent) at a practical, daily-use level.
Solid grasp of loudness standards and metering (LUFS, true peak, dialogue-gated measurement).
Critical listening — can hear a 2-frame sync slip, a level mismatch, or an artifact a casual listener would miss.
Understanding of M&E stems and how a dub mix is rebuilt on them. - Comfortable with volume: episodic throughput (multiple episodes/ week) without QC fatigue.
- Exposure to AI/TTS-generated dialogue and its specific cleanup needs (artifact patterns differ from mic recordings).
- Basic music sensibility for song sequences in dubbed content. - Surround (5.1) mixing experience; stereo is the baseline.
- Familiarity with delivery ecosystems: AS-11, IMF, or OTT partner spec sheets.
