Qualifications

• Valid registration with the State Medical Council/NMC as applicable.

• Strong clinical and diagnostic ophthalmology skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Examine patients, diagnose eye conditions, and provide medical and surgical treatment.
• Conduct comprehensive eye examinations and assess visual acuity and ocular health.
• Diagnose and manage cataracts, glaucoma, refractive errors and other eye disorders.
• Prescribe medications, corrective lenses and other treatments as indicated.
• Perform ophthalmic procedures and surgeries as per qualification and privileges.
• Refer patients for specialised investigations or advanced treatment when required.
• Provide patient and family counselling regarding diagnosis, treatment plans and eye care.
• Maintain accurate patient records and treatment plans.
• Coordinate with other departments for integrated patient care and adhere to policies and infection control standards.

• Experience: Relevant experience in ophthalmology; fresh postgraduates may also be considered based on hospital requirements.
• Registration: Valid registration with the State Medical Council/National Medical Commission, as applicable.
• Skills Required: Clinical assessment, diagnostic skills, patient counselling, and management of ophthalmic conditions.
