Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced BI professional in Chennai to design and optimize Looker-based dashboards and data models. You will work with business users to gather requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions while ensuring data accuracy and governance.

Requirements include 3+ years in BI/analytics, Looker/LookML expertise, strong SQL skills, and experience with major cloud data warehouses such as BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, or Synapse.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Data Analytics or related field.
• 3+ years in BI, reporting or analytics development.
• Hands-on Looker and LookML development experience.
• Strong SQL and relational DB concepts.
• Experience with cloud data warehouses (BigQuery, Snowflake, Redshift, Synapse).

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain dashboards, reports, and visuals in Looker.
• Develop LookML models, views, explores, and dashboards.
• Gather requirements from business users for analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain interactive dashboards, reports, and visualizations using Looker.
• Build and optimize LookML models, views, explores, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with business users to gather reporting and analytics requirements.
• Translate business requirements into scalable data models and BI solutions.
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries for data extraction and transformation.
• Ensure data accuracy, consistency, and performance across reports and dashboards.
• Troubleshoot data quality issues and resolve reporting discrepancies.
• Work closely with data engineering teams to understand data pipelines and warehouse structures.
• Optimize Looker performance through efficient data modeling and query tuning.
• Implement data governance, security, and access controls within Looker.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, data dictionaries, and development standards.
• Support ad-hoc reporting and analytics requests from stakeholders.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Analytics, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Reporting, or Analytics development.
• Hands-on experience with Looker and LookML development.
• Strong proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
• Experience working with cloud data warehouses such as:

• Understanding of data warehousing concepts, ETL/ELT processes, and dimensional modeling.
