Job summary

BSE Limited is seeking a market surveillance professional to monitor trading activity, review alerts, and conduct in-depth investigations into suspected market abuse and regulatory violations. You will prepare reports and assist with regulatory submissions while maintaining thorough documentation and audit trails.

The role requires strong analytical capabilities, knowledge of SEBI regulations, and experience with data analysis and automation to optimize surveillance processes.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to analyze large datasets and identify patterns.

Responsibilities

• Monitor trading activity, market movements, and unusual patterns across Equity and F&O segments.
• Review surveillance alerts, exception reports, complaints, STRs, SEBI alerts and inputs to identify investigation cases.
• Conduct detailed investigations into suspected market abuse and regulatory violations through data analysis.
• Prepare investigation reports, MIS, regulatory submissions, and responses with proper audit trails.
• Support compliance initiatives, SOP adherence, system enhancements and automation projects.

Job description

Role Purpose: Responsible for market surveillance, alert reviews, investigation of suspected market abuse, regulatory reporting, and continuous improvement of surveillance processes across market segments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor trading activity, market movements, and unusual patterns across Equity and F&O segments.
• Review surveillance alerts, exception reports, complaints, STRs, SEBI alerts, and other inputs to identify investigation cases.
• Conduct detailed investigations into suspected market abuse, regulatory violations, and trading irregularities through analysis of trading data, client behavior, linkages, profitability, market impact, and collusive activities.
• Prepare investigation reports, MIS, regulatory submissions, and responses to regulatory authorities while maintaining appropriate documentation and audit trails.
• Support compliance initiatives, SOP adherence, system enhancements, UAT activities, alert optimization, risk indicator monitoring, and process automation projects.

Required Skills & Competencies:

• Strong analytical, investigative, and report-writing capabilities.
• Sound knowledge of capital markets, surveillance frameworks, and SEBI regulations.
• Ability to work with large datasets, surveillance alerts, MIS, and regulatory information.
• Excellent coordination, documentation, attention to detail, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in process automation and technology-driven improvements.
• Exposure to Power BI, Excel Macros, and similar analytical tools will be an added advantage.
