Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services is seeking an experienced WLAN engineer to configure and troubleshoot Cisco WLCs and APs, manage 802.1X authentication, and ensure robust wireless performance. The role involves RF validation, site surveys, and collaboration with L3 teams for complex escalations.

Candidates should have hands-on Cisco WLC experience, familiarity with DNAC/Prime, and knowledge of VLANs and routing. Willingness to work 24x7 shifts is required.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with configuration, implementation and troubleshooting of Cisco WLCs and APs.
• Experience with Cisco ISE, RADIUS/AAA, and 802.1X authentication.
• Familiarity with Wi-Fi standards 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax and wireless security (WPA2/WPA3).
• Experience with site survey tools Ekahau, AirMagnet.
• Able to handle L2 wireless incidents, service requests, and user connectivity issues.
• Troubleshoot AP registration, client association, roaming and authentication problems.
• Perform basic configuration changes on Cisco WLCs (AireOS / 9800) under guidance.
• Monitor wireless performance and AP/WLC health via Prime/DNAC.
• Assist with RF checks, channel/power adjustments and coverage validations.
• Support onboarding of new APs, SSID updates and floor map changes.
• Document resolutions and contribute to knowledge base articles.
• Collaborate with L3 teams for escalations and RCA.
• Willing to work in 24x7 shifts.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco WLCs and related tools.
• Familiarity with DNAC and Cisco Prime Infrastructure.
• Understanding of VLANs and routing basics.

Responsibilities

• Configure and troubleshoot Cisco WLCs and APs in enterprise WLAN environments.
• Monitor wireless performance, alarms and health using DNAC/Prime Infrastructure.
• Perform RF checks, site surveys and coverage validation with Ekahau/AirMagnet.
• Manage 802.1X authentication and RADIUS/AAA via Cisco ISE; assist with onboarding of new APs.
• Collaborate with L3 teams for escalations and root cause analysis.
• Prepare documentation and contribute to knowledge base articles.
• Be ready to work in 24x7 shifts.

• ITIL Certification.
