Responsibilities

  • Design, deploy, manage, and support AWS environments for scale, security and availability.
  • Administer AWS services: EC2, S3, RDS, IAM, VPC, and more.
  • Automate infrastructure using IaC with Terraform/CloudFormation and Ansible.
  • Maintain multi-account environments with governance and cost controls.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot cloud and container deployments, incl. EKS.
  • Manage Linux systems: patching, hardening, and security controls.
  • Develop CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows with Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.
  • Implement container security, image scanning, and remediation workflows.
  • Respond to incidents, perform RCA, and support audits and compliance.

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated AWS Engineer L2 with hands-on experience in AWS Cloud Infrastructure, Linux Administration, DevOps, Kubernetes (Amazon EKS), and Security Operations (SecOps). The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, automating, securing, and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure and application platforms. This role requires strong expertise in cloud operations, infrastructure automation, container orchestration, monitoring, and cloud security best practices.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
AWS Cloud Administration & Engineering
  • Design, deploy, manage, and support scalable, secure, and highly available AWS environments.
  • Administer AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, EBS, RDS, Route 53, ELB/ALB/NLB, Auto Scaling Groups, Lambda, CloudWatch, SNS, SQS, Systems Manager, KMS, Secrets Manager, and CloudTrail.
  • Implement and maintain multi-account AWS environments using AWS Organizations and governance best practices.
  • Optimize cloud resources for performance, availability, security, and cost efficiency.
  • Design and support backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
  • Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, networking, and application deployment issues.
Linux Administration
  • Install, configure, administer, and troubleshoot Linux servers: RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Amazon Linux.
  • Manage users, groups, permissions, file systems, storage volumes, and system services.
  • Perform OS patching, upgrades, vulnerability remediation, and system hardening.
  • Troubleshoot Linux performance, networking, and application-related issues.
  • Configure and manage SSH, DNS, NFS, firewalls, and system security settings.
  • Automate routine operational tasks using Bash/Shell scripting.
DevOps & Automation
  • Build, manage, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, AWS CodePipeline, and CodeBuild.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration management using Terraform, CloudFormation, and Ansible.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) standards and DevOps best practices across the organization.
  • Manage source code repositories, branching strategies, and release processes using Git.
  • Develop automation scripts using Python and Shell scripting for operational efficiency.
  • Support GitOps deployment methodologies using ArgoCD or equivalent tools.
Kubernetes & Amazon EKS
  • Deploy, administer, and maintain Kubernetes clusters on Amazon EKS.
  • Manage Kubernetes resources: Deployments, StatefulSets, Services, Ingress Controllers, ConfigMaps, Secrets, and RBAC.
  • Configure and manage EKS Node Groups and Fargate profiles.
  • Deploy and manage applications using Helm Charts.
  • Implement autoscaling with Horizontal Pod Autoscaler (HPA) and Cluster Autoscaler.
  • Perform Kubernetes upgrades, patching, security hardening, and cluster maintenance.
  • Troubleshoot containerized workloads, cluster performance, and networking issues.
Containerization
  • Build, manage, and optimize Docker images and containerized applications.
  • Manage Amazon ECR repositories and image lifecycle policies.
  • Implement container image vulnerability scanning and remediation workflows.
  • Ensure container security best practices are enforced across all environments.
Security Operations (SecOps)
  • Implement AWS security best practices aligned with the AWS Well-Architected Framework and CIS benchmarks.
  • Configure and manage: AWS Security Hub, GuardDuty, Inspector, Config, Macie, WAF, Shield, CloudTrail, and IAM.
  • Monitor cloud environments for security threats, vulnerabilities, and compliance violations.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments, risk analysis, and end-to-end remediation activities.
  • Manage IAM roles, policies, access reviews, and least-privilege security controls.
  • Implement secrets management using AWS Secrets Manager and Systems Manager Parameter Store.
  • Support security audits, compliance requirements, and governance initiatives.
  • Investigate security incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions.
Monitoring, Logging & Observability
  • Implement monitoring and alerting solutions using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK/OpenSearch.
  • Create dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks for production systems.
  • Monitor system performance, application health, and infrastructure availability continuously.
  • Analyze logs and metrics to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users.
Incident Management & Production Support
  • Participate in production support and on-call rotation responsibilities.
  • Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, performance, and security incidents.
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure environments consistently meet SLA, reliability, security, and compliance requirements.
