The Edge Partnership seeks a high-impact Vice President level leader to head Securities Settlements in a global financial services group.   • Manage stakeholder relationships across Trading, Risk and Compliance and with custodians/CSDs/regulators.
  • Direct a global team and lead technology-driven transformation with robust risk frameworks.
  • Represent the organization in industry advocacy and market engagement.

Job description

A high-impact, Vice President-level opportunity within the Operations function of a leading global financial services group, seeking an experienced securities settlements leader to shape the strategic direction of a critical global settlement function. The role manages the end-to-end settlement lifecycle of securities transactions across global markets, with daily settlement volumes exceeding several billion dollars.

This role offers the opportunity to lead digital transformation within a high-volume, mission-critical function, spearheading AI and automation initiatives and positioning the organisation at the forefront of market structure evolution.

Some of the key responsibilities will include:
  • Managing the global settlement lifecycle of securities transactions, driving operational excellence, regulatory compliance and risk management.
  • Providing strategic leadership on digital transformation, including AI and automation initiatives to enhance settlement efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Implementing predictive analytics for fail prevention, exploring DLT solutions and leading initiatives such as T+1 settlement adoption.
  • Driving value creation through cost reduction, risk mitigation and process optimization.
  • Building relationships with market infrastructure providers, custodians and regulators.
  • Managing key stakeholder relationships across Trading, Risk and Compliance, as well as custodians, CSDs and regulators.
  • Directing a global team, driving technological transformation and ensuring robust risk frameworks and regulatory compliance.
  • Representing the organisation through industry advocacy and market engagement.
To be eligible for this role you will require:
  • 14+ years of relevant experience within securities settlements / operations, ideally at a senior leadership level.
  • Deep understanding of securities settlement processes and market infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry standards, risk management and control frameworks.
  • Solid understanding of global markets and financial instruments.
  • Expertise in settlement systems and platforms, with strong understanding of Straight Through Processing (STP).
  • Knowledge of major custodian and CSD platforms, with experience in settlement automation tools.
  • Strong stakeholder management and leadership capability, with experience directing global teams.
  • Exposure to DLT/blockchain, AI/ML implementation or data analytics/visualisation would be advantageous.
