Job summary

Vellstone in Gurgaon is seeking a VP Platform with 15+ years of experience to lead our enterprise cloud platform. You will own SaaS infrastructure stability, drive a Kubernetes-based stack, and guide a migration from Oracle to PostgreSQL.

You will mentor a distributed team across SRE, DevOps, security, and infrastructure, set engineering standards, and partner with CTO and Chief Architect on architectural choices and cloud modernization.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of experience in platform engineering, SRE, cloud infrastructure, database operations, or enterprise IT leadership.
• Proven track record of leading distributed technical teams across varied seniorities and functional disciplines.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS/Azure, Kafka, CI/CD, and observability tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead SaaS infrastructure stability while building a scalable, cloud-native platform.
• Drive Oracle to Postgres migration pipeline, DBA practice, and baseline security standards.
• Own platform foundations including Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka, Redis, Kong, observability, and CI/CD tools.
• Build and mentor a high-performing distributed platform organization across SRE, DevOps, security, and infrastructure.
• Be part of a leadership team with visibility alongside the CTO and Chief Architect.

We’re hiring a VP Platform for our client, a leading enterprise technology company offering an integrated, cloud-based omnichannel and multichannel retail technology suite for fashion, apparel, and lifestyle brands. A s the VP Platform, your responsibilities would be:

• Leading current SaaS infrastructure stability while building a scalable, target cloud-native platform.
• Driving the Oracle to Postgres migration pipeline, DBA practice, and baseline security standards.
• Owning platform foundations including Kubernetes, Postgres, Kafka, Redis, Kong, observability, and CI/CD tools.

• Deep expertise in core technologies like Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, AWS/Azure, Kafka, CI/CD, and observability tools.
  
• Hands-on proficiency with infrastructure-as-code, multi-tenant SaaS environments, security controls, and incident response management.
  
• Experience modernizing complex production systems, with added advantage in Oracle to Postgres migrations and regulatory compliance (SOC2/ISO 27001).
  
• Lead the end-to-end technical transformation and cloud modernization of enterprise-scale platform infrastructure.
  
• Shape engineering standards and operational discipline across cross-functional product and domain engineering squads.
  
• Direct ownership of critical platform architectural choices, cloud efficiency, and incident governance frameworks.
  
• Build, scale, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team of top SRE, DevOps, Security, and Database talent.
  
• Be part of a high-impact leadership team with direct visibility and collaboration alongside the CTO and Chief Architect.
