Job summary

Tata Consultancy Services in Mumbai is seeking a seasoned VMware Administrator to manage and optimize our VMware infrastructure. The role involves installing, configuring, and maintaining ESXi and vCenter environments across multiple versions.

You will design and build VMware solutions, manage templates, perform migrations, backups, and disaster recovery tasks, and ensure security through patching and hardening. 6+ years' experience required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of VMware administration experience in complex environments.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure and maintain VMware ESXi & vCenter servers of version 6.7, 7.0, 8.0.
• VMware Environment Build and Design; provide support during build and run phases of projects.
• Installation, configuration, and administration of components in a large VMware environment: vCenter, Update Manager, vRealize Ops, SRM.
• Creating and managing virtual machines; VMDK expansions; CPU and RAM upgrades.
• Knowledge of motion/DRS/HA/FT; storage systems (SAN/NAS).
• VM template design and right-sizing using vCenter Ops.
• Creation, migration, cloning, snapshots, backup, recovery and troubleshooting of VMs.
• Change management, ticketing, capacity management.
• Backup, patching and hardening for VMware and Windows servers.
• Asset / CMDB management.

Role : VMWare Admin

Experience : 6+ years

Location : Mumbai

• Install, configure and maintain VMware ESXi & vCenter servers of version 6.7, 7.0, 8.0
• VMware Environment Build and Design Providing support during build and run phases of project
• Installation, configuration, and administration of components in a large VMware environment cantered around best practices, to include vCenter, VMware Update Manager, vRealize Operations Manager and vCenter Site Recovery Manager
• Creating and managing virtual machines. Performing various tasks such as VMDK Expansions, virtual CPU and RAM upgrade
• Good understanding of motion/ DRS/ HA/ FT, storage system, SAN, NAS.
• Experience in VM template design and leveraging vCenter Operations Manager to right size, virtual servers
• Creation, migration, cloning, snapshots, backup, recovery and troubleshooting of Virtual machines
• Good knowledge of change management processes and ticketing applications and Capacity Management
• Good knowledge on backup and recovery and server patching process for VMware
• Hardening and Vulnerability Mitigation of Windows & VMware
• Asset / CMDB Management
