Job description

• Operate and program VMC (Vertical Machining Center) machines as per production requirements.
• Develop, edit, and modify CNC/VMC programs using G-code and M-code.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, dimensions, tolerances, and machining specifications.
• Set up VMC machines, fixtures, tools, workpieces, and work offsets.
• Perform tool setting, tool offset, work offset, tool changes, and parameter adjustments.
• Select suitable cutting tools, inserts, RPM, feed, depth of cut, and machining parameters.
• Conduct program proving, dry runs, single-block checks, and first-piece trials.
• Operate controllers such as Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi as applicable.
• Inspect components using Vernier caliper, micrometer, height gauge, bore gauge, and other measuring instruments.
• Ensure components meet required dimensional accuracy, tolerance, and surface-finish standards.
• Troubleshoot basic program errors, tool wear, dimensional variations, and machining issues.
• Optimize programs to reduce cycle time, tool consumption, rejection, and rework.
• Modify programs based on quality inspection and production feedback.
• Maintain and update CNC programs and revision records.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Engineering teams for smooth production.
• Achieve daily production targets while maintaining required quality standards.
• Maintain proper records of production, rejection, tool changes, and machine downtime.
• Follow 5S, safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.
• Identify and report machine abnormalities, breakdowns, and tooling issues to the concerned team.
• Support new component development, process improvement, and productivity enhancement.
• Ensure proper care and maintenance of the machine, tools, fixtures, and measuring instruments.
