Job Title: Video Editor
Job Summary
The Real Estate Video Editor is responsible for editing high-quality video content to showcase residential and commercial properties for marketing and promotional use. This includes editing footage into polished walk-throughs, highlight reels, drone videos, or virtual tours that appeal to prospective buyers or renters. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, efficient, and skilled in post-production workflows for real estate media.
Key Responsibilities
- Edit raw video footage into professional, market-ready content that highlights property features and amenities.
- Work with various formats including walk-through videos, drone footage, agent introductions, and 3D virtual tours.
- Apply color grading, sound design, stabilization, transitions, text overlays, and branding as needed.
- Collaborate with photographers, drone operators, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive visual storytelling.
- Optimize video for multiple platforms including MLS, websites, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, and other social channels.
- Maintain brand consistency across all video content.
- Manage video storage, backups, and file organization for easy access and future edits.
- Ensure quick turnaround times (typically 24–72 hours depending on the project).
- Stay updated on industry trends and techniques to deliver fresh, modern content.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in video editing, ideally within real estate, architecture, or lifestyle content.
- Proficiency in editing software such as Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar.
- Understanding of video formats, compression, resolution, and output settings suitable for various digital platforms.
- Familiarity with motion graphics and text animation (After Effects or similar tools is a plus).
- Basic audio editing and sound mixing skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
Preferred Skills
- Experience editing drone footage.
- Familiarity with 3D tour platforms (e.g., Matterport, Zillow 3D).
- Knowledge of real estate marketing and buyer psychology.
- Graphic design experience for video thumbnails and branded elements.
Working Conditions
- Remote or in-house editing depending on company setup.
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- May need to coordinate across multiple time zones (if working with remote teams).
