Job summary

The InterMentalist in Chennai is seeking a creative Video Editor who excels in storytelling and can craft engaging videos for Instagram Reels, branded content and influencer campaigns. This role requires technical fluency across editing tools and a strong sense of pacing, hooks and audience retention.

You will work on vertical and horizontal formats, understand briefs, and deliver multiple projects within deadlines.

• Select shots, pacing, music, transitions, graphics and subtitles.
• Conceptualise creative improvements beyond instructions.
• Repurpose long-form content for social media.

Location: Chennai | Work from Office | Studio in Eldams road

Timing: 10:00 AM 6:30 PM

Working Days: Monday to Saturday

Salary: 3 lakhs to 4.25 lakhs per annum

Sundays & Festivals: Holiday

Role:

We are looking for a creative Video Editor who is technically strong but, more importantly, understands storytelling, content flow and what makes a video engaging.

Responsibilities:

• Edit Instagram Reels, branded content & influencer campaign videos
• Edit performance marketing videos, BTS content & podcasts
• Edit wedding videos and event films
• Work on both vertical & horizontal formats
• Understand scripts and briefs and convert them into engaging videos
• Select the right shots, pacing, music, transitions, graphics, subtitles, etc.
• Conceptualise and suggest creative improvements instead of simply following instructions
• Repurpose long-form content into short-form/social media formats
• Manage multiple projects and deliver within deadlines

Skills Required

• Strong proficiency in Premiere Pro / After Effects / Photoshop / Audition / DaVinci Resolve or equivalent
• Strong understanding of storytelling, pacing, hooks and audience retention
• Good creative sense and attention to detail
• Ability to independently identify what can be improved in an edit
• Experience with both social media and long-form video editing.

Portfolio/Showreel is mandatory.

We are looking for someone who can EDIT + THINK + CREATE, not just operate editing software.
