Reputed Company in India seeks a Vice President, Sr. Actuary to lead the Retirement Actuarial Group. You will oversee actuarial valuation, reporting, and reinsurance for retirement products, reporting to the Retirement Actuarial SVP while guiding management decisions.

Responsibilities include governance of financial reporting, model optimization, and strategic input on reinsurance transactions. Strong leadership and communication with executive management are essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong quantitative background, including college-level Mathematics highly preferred. High school diploma required.
  • 10+ years of actuarial experience in an insurance-reputed company.
  • 2+ years of reinsurance experience in a reputed company.
  • FSA designation is required.
  • Fixed Indexed Annuity experience and extensive knowledge of US GAAP, FAS 133 and US Statutory Actuarial requirements.

About the role

In this role, you will be responsible for aspects of financial reporting and reinsurance for the Retirement Actuarial Group. You will report to the Retirement Actuarial SVP and serve as a member of management, holding an important leadership position as the company expands.

What You Will Do
  • Actuarial valuation of the retirement division according to US GAAP and US Statutory standards.
  • Coordinate and review the asset/liability modeling development and output for any principles-based reserving for US Statutory and any Market Risk Benefits.
  • Conduct monthly financial results analysis and review, taking ownership of explaining actual-to-plan variances.
  • Prepare the division’s financial and business plan.
  • Manage duties including reviewing work, developing employees, and leading teams.
  • Ensure accurate governance and controls over the financial reporting processes.
  • Prioritize modeling improvements and updates; develop strategy on model optimization and reporting.
  • Provide input on potential annuity reinsurance transactions, including offshore agreements.
  • Analyze existing reinsurance agreements to assess financial viability and optimize terms, making recommendations to management based on results.
  • Establish and run operational aspects of financial reporting including reinsurance for the retirement division, ensuring processes align with industry guidelines and contract terms.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for reinsurance status updates, report outs, and audits.
  • Allocate approximately 40% of time to recurring duties, 20% to project work, and 40% to management duties.

Compensation

Salary: $225,000 – $250,000 plus eligibility for annual bonus program and long-term incentive plan.

Who You Are
  • Bachelor’s degree with a strong quantitative background, including college-level Mathematics highly preferred. High school diploma required.
  • 10+ years of insurance‑reputed company actuarial experience required.
  • 2+ years of reputed company experience with reinsurance required.
  • FSA designation required.
  • Fixed Indexed Annuity experience required and extensive knowledge of US GAAP, FAS 133 and US Statutory Actuarial requirements.
  • Demonstrated mastery of insurance products and reputed company knowledge of industry information.
  • Recognized as an internal expert in a reputed company of industry and regulatory actuarial issues.
  • Registered Indexed Annuity Experience Preferred.
  • Exceptional technical literacy, including use of sophisticated spreadsheets, PowerPoint, and data management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with experience presenting to executive management.
