Principal responsibilities
- Managing senior business stakeholders. Understand business challenges and convert to data solutions.
- Participate in the design of data solutions along with senior product owners.
- Manage a team of data analysts. Distribute work and ensure projects are executed as per timeline.
- Ability to convert business problems into analytical problems.
- Understand HSBC systems and participate in shaping data strategy for HSBC CIB D&A business.
- Provide high-quality analysis and recommendations for business problems.
- Manage delivery within agreed timelines and quality standards. Drive business benefits through self-initiated projects.
- Act as an SME/consultant on a functional area, conceptualize solutions for business problems across multiple regions.
- Focus on driving efficiency gains and process enhancements.
- Partner effectively with the business to drive data-driven decisions and generate value.
- Use data to improve customer outcomes through insights and challenge.
- Drive business benefits through self-initiated projects.
Requirements
- Master's degree from a reputed university in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related quantitative fields.
- Experience managing large teams of data professionals.
- Experience managing senior stakeholders.
- Experience handling significant data volumes with knowledge of relational databases and consulting in data analytics.
- Excellent project management skills.
- Thorough knowledge of SQL and Python; knowledge of Pyspark and SAS is a plus.
- Knowledge of Big Data technologies.
- Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform or similar solutions.
- Advanced MS Excel skills, including macros.
- Strong analytical skills with business analysis experience.
- Knowledge of financial services and banking operations is preferred.
- Ability to translate complex technical work into business language.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proven stakeholder management and problem-solving capabilities.
