Job summary

WPP Production in Chennai seeks a seasoned VFX Production Coordinator to manage and streamline production workflows, coordinating daily activities across Matchmove, Layout, Animation, FX, CFX, Lighting, Rendering and Compositing. You will track milestones, delivery timelines and dependencies while maintaining quality standards.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years of VFX coordination experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and a proactive approach to solving production

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in VFX production coordination.
• Strong knowledge of end-to-end VFX pipelines and shot-based workflows.
• Familiarity with production tracking tools such as ShotGrid or ftrack.
• Proficient in Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Excellent communication, organisational, planning and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple sequences, deadlines and priorities.
• Proactive problem-solving with strong attention to detail.
• Capable of working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

What Does a VFX Production Coordinator Do at WPP Production?

We are looking for an experienced and proactiveVFX Production Coordinator to manage and streamline production workflows, ensuring smooth coordination between departments and timely delivery of shots and sequences while maintaining quality standards.

The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of VFX pipelines, excellent organisational skills, and the ability to keep multiple teams and projects moving efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily production activities across Matchmove, Layout, Animation, FX, CFX, Lighting, Rendering, and Compositing.
• Manage shot tracking, production schedules, milestones, and delivery timelines.
• Work closely with artists, supervisors, department leads, and clients to track progress, communicate updates, and manage feedback.
• Monitor shot statuses, identify production bottlenecks, and proactively resolve workflow challenges.
• Track dependencies between departments to ensure smooth pipeline progression.
• Identify potential production risks, flag delays, and proactively resolve workflow challenges.
• Prepare and maintain daily/weekly production reports, trackers, and delivery records.
• Ensure clear communication across departments and keep production teams aligned with project priorities.
• Support production planning and help ensure projects are delivered on time and within defined quality expectations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5 - 8 years of relevant experience in VFX production coordination.
• Good understanding of end-to-end VFX pipelines and shot-based production workflows.
• Familiarity with production tracking tools such as ShotGrid, ftrack, or similar platforms.
• Good working knowledge of Excel and/or Google Sheets.
• Strong communication, organisational, planning, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to manage multiple sequences, deadlines, and priorities simultaneously.
• Proactive problem-solving approach with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven production environment.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working on feature films, OTT projects, episodic content, or commercials.
• Exposure to multi-department VFX workflows and large-scale productions.
• Experience coordinating with international teams and clients is an added advantage.
