Captain Steel is seeking a skilled Veterinary Doctor to join our hospital as a core clinical member. You will independently manage a wide spectrum of small animal cases, mentor junior staff, and contribute to building clinical standards and reputation.

You will perform surgeries, interpret diagnostics, manage emergencies, and maintain patient records. Strong English and Bengali communication are essential, along with leadership to guide the team and support ongoing training and protocol

Qualifications

• BVSc & AH from a recognised university.
• MVSc is an advantage.
• 2–5 years clinical experience in small animals.
• Registered with WB Veterinary Council.
• Proficient in small animal surgery and diagnostics.
• Familiar with digital record-keeping.
• Strong diagnostic reasoning and leadership.
• Excellent English and Bengali communication.

Responsibilities

• Examine, diagnose, and treat small animals.
• Plan and perform spay/neuter and other surgeries.
• Interpret hematology, biochemistry, radiology, ultrasound.
• Manage emergencies with clinical judgment.
• Mentor juniors and guide staff.
• Maintain comprehensive patient records.

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Veterinary Doctor to join our team as a core clinical member. You will independently manage a wide spectrum of small animal cases, mentor junior staff, and contribute to building our hospital's clinical standards and reputation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Independently examine, diagnose, and treat a broad range of medical and surgical conditions in small animals
• Plan and perform surgical procedures including spay/neuter, soft tissue surgeries, and orthopaedic interventions
• Interpret and act on diagnostic reports haematology, biochemistry, radiology, and ultrasonography
• Manage critical and emergency cases with clinical confidence and sound judgement
• Formulate and oversee individualised treatment protocols and follow-up care plans
• Mentor and guide fresher veterinarians and support staff on clinical best practices
• Maintain comprehensive, accurate patient records and medical histories
• Communicate effectively with pet owners regarding complex diagnoses, prognoses, and treatment decisions
• Contribute to in-house training, case discussions, and clinical protocol development
• Stay abreast of developments in veterinary medicine, pharmacology, and emerging treatment modalities

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

• Education: Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry (B.V.Sc. & A.H.) from a recognised university
• Postgraduate qualification (M.V.Sc.) is an advantage
• Experience: 2–5 years of hands‑on clinical experience in a small animal practice or veterinary hospital
• Registration: Valid registration with the West Bengal Veterinary Council (or transferable registration)
• Proven proficiency in small animal surgery, diagnostics, and emergency case management
• Familiarity with veterinary practice management software and digital record‑keeping is an advantage
• Strong diagnostic reasoning, clinical decision‑making, and problem‑solving skills
• Excellent communication skills in English and Bengali (preferred)
• Leadership aptitude with the ability to guide and mentor junior team members
