Job summary

Tata Power, Finance Centre of Excellence in Mumbai, seeks an experienced Head of Treasury Back Office to lead end-to-end treasury operations and drive process improvements. This managerial role focuses on settlements, reconciliations, and strong controls.

The ideal candidate has 8–12 years in Treasury/Finance Shared Services, with hands-on SAP and a track record of team leadership and automation initiatives. Work mode: Office-based in Mumbai.

Qualifications

• 8–12 years of experience in Treasury, Finance Shared Services, Banking Operations, or Treasury Back Office.
• Hands-on SAP experience is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Treasury Back Office operations including processing and settlement.
• Oversee Trade Finance, FX, investments, borrowings, and reconciliations.
• Drive automation and ERP/TMS optimization.
• Manage month-end/year-end closure, reporting, MIS, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Ensure RBI/FEMA compliance and strong internal controls.
• Lead team development and succession planning.
• Maintain treasury records, documentation, and schedules.

Job description

Role & responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Treasury Back Office operations, including transaction processing, confirmation, settlement, accounting, and reconciliations.
• Oversee Trade Finance, FX, investments, Borrowings, payments, cash/bank transactions, and intercompany transactions. Ensure timely and accurate bank and treasury reconciliations and resolution of exceptions.
• Drive automation, digital transformation, ERP/TMS optimization, and process improvements. Vertical Head Treasury Back Office CA/CPA/CMA/MBA 8 - 12 Years Mumbai
• Lead FCOE/Shared Services centralization and onboarding of new entities/processes.
• Ensure SLA-based service delivery, operational efficiency, accuracy, and strong internal controls.
• Manage month-end/year-end Treasury closure, reporting, MIS, dashboards, and KPIs.
• Ensure compliance with RBI, FEMA, internal policies, accounting standards, and audit requirements.
• Manage relationships with Treasury, Finance, Tax, Business Units, banks, auditors, and other stakeholders.
• Drive timely resolution of operational issues, exceptions, and escalations.
• Identify process gaps and implement best practices, standardization, and continuous improvements.
• Lead team development, cross-training, succession planning, and talent management.
• Ensure business continuity, SOP adherence, risk management, and control effectiveness across Treasury Back Office operations.
• Ensure accurate maintenance of treasury records, confirmations, documentation, and supporting schedules

Preferred candidate profile

• Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Commerce, or related discipline; CA/CPA/CMA/MBA Finance preferred.
• 812 years of experience in Treasury, Finance Shared Services, Banking Operations, or Treasury Back Office, with team-management experience.
• Strong knowledge of Treasury Back Office, Trade Finance, Debt Servicing, settlements, bank reconciliations, cash management, confirmations, accounting, and reporting.
• Proficiency in SAP/Treasury Management Systems or similar treasury platform. Good understanding of banking products, payments, FX, intercompany transactions, and treasury controls.
• Knowledge of RBI, FEMA, banking regulations, taxation, and accounting requirements.
• Strong analytical, stakeholder-management, communication, and people-leadership skills.
• Ability to drive automation, transformation, process standardization, and continuous improvement

Note

• This is a managerial role and not an individual contributor role. Hence, candidates with team management experience should be prioritized.
• Relevant experience: Treasury Back Office, Treasury Operations, Banking Operations, or Finance Shared Services, with exposure to settlements, reconciliations, Trade Finance, FX, borrowings, payments, accounting, and reporting.
• Hands-on SAP experience is mandatory.
• Experience: 812 years (Frequent switchers should be avoided).
• Minimum stability: 2.5 years in an organization.
