This role is critical in ensuring secure certificate lifecycle management, PKI governance, and the successful delivery of security‑focused projects in complex enterprise environments.

Detailed Job Description

As a Venafi PKI Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, administering, and optimizing enterprise PKI environments powered by Venafi solutions. You will work closely with cybersecurity, infrastructure, and application teams to automate certificate management, enhance security posture, and ensure compliance with industry standards. The role requires deep expertise in PKI technologies, digital certificates, encryption, and security best practices. You will also contribute to strategic security projects, troubleshoot certificate‑related issues, and provide technical guidance to stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned PKI professional to work remotely on high‑impact cybersecurity initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage enterprise PKI and certificate lifecycle management solutions
• Administer and optimize Venafi platforms and associated infrastructure
• Automate certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, and compliance processes
• Support cybersecurity and infrastructure teams in securing critical systems and applications
• Monitor PKI environments and proactively resolve certificate‑related issues
• Implement best practices for cryptography, certificate management, and key protection
• Conduct troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and performance optimization activities
• Support security audits, compliance requirements, and governance initiatives
• Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, and architecture guidelines
• Provide technical expertise during cybersecurity and PKI transformation projects

Required Qualifications & Skills

• 8–10+ years of hands‑on experience with Venafi PKI solutions
• Strong background in cybersecurity, PKI, and certificate management technologies
• Deep understanding of digital certificates, cryptography, and encryption standards
• Experience designing and managing enterprise PKI infrastructures
• Knowledge of certificate lifecycle management and automation processes
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem‑solving capabilities
• Experience supporting enterprise security and compliance initiatives
• Excellent verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote, project‑based environment

Nice‑to‑Have Skills

• Venafi Certified Professional or related Venafi certification
• Experience with Microsoft PKI, Active Directory Certificate Services (ADCS)
• Familiarity with HSMs (Hardware Security Modules) and key management solutions
• Knowledge of cloud security platforms (Azure, AWS, Google Cloud)
• Experience in regulated industries such as banking, government, or telecommunications
