About the Role
We are seeking an energetic and analytical VC Associate with 2 to 3 years of professional experience in venture capital, investment banking, startup consulting, or corporate development. In this role, you will be deeply involved in startup sourcing, market research, deal evaluation, cap table reviews, and supporting deal execution from initial outreach to closing.
Key Responsibilities
1. Deal Sourcing & Market Intelligence
- Actively identify, source, and track high-potential early-stage startups aligned with the firms thesis.
- Build network relationships with founders, accelerators, incubators, and industry networks.
- Conduct comprehensive market research, track sector trends, and map target landscapes (market sizing, competitor mapping, unit economics analysis).
2. Due Diligence & Investment Evaluation
- Review pitch decks, business models, financial models, and operational metrics of target companies.
- Conduct commercial due diligence, including customer/expert reference calls and competitive analysis.
- Evaluate cap tables, ownership structures, and funding history (using databases like PitchBook, Crunchbase, etc.).
- Assist in drafting investment memos and presentations for the Investment Committee (IC).
3. Deal Execution & Portfolio Support
- Coordinate data room reviews and support term sheet drafting and execution workflows.
- Assist in tracking and analyzing post-investment portfolio performance and key KPIs.
- Help portfolio founders with ad-hoc operational, market expansion, and follow-on fundraising research.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, or a related field (CA semi).
- Experience: 2 to 3 years of experience in Venture Capital, Angel/Syndicate Networks, Startup Operations, Investment Banking, or Top-tier Management Consulting.
- Solid understanding of venture funding deal mechanics, cap tables, valuation methodologies, and startup metrics (CAC, LTV, Burn Rate, ARR).
